Is it legal for me to hire CRI or for me to restore my credit?

YES. Congress passed the Fair Credit Reporting Act in 1970 giving every U.S. consumer the right to challenge negative information on their credit report that is inaccurate, unverifiable, erroneous, obsolete and misleading. How to start the credit restoration or credit repair process: (1) You can perform the process yourself by contacting the bureaus yourself . But if you are inexperienced with the process, this is not the best choice because you can actually make your credit worse. (2) You can purchase a credit restoration kit at an office supply store. But if you are not familiar with the process, the obstacles and proper way to respond to the credit bureaus, this is not the best choice and you can make your credit worse. (3) You can hire an attorney but this could be cost prohibitive and to find an attorney that is experienced at credit restoration is like finding a needle in a haystack. (4) If you don't have the time to do it yourself, you can hire Consumer Resources, Inc. because we have a proven track record, deliver fastresults, are affordable, effective and have a solid reputation worldwide since 1996.

03

04

Would paying off collection accounts  improve my credit scores?

Paying off collections, charge-offs, or profit and loss accounts will drop your credit scores 38-55 points per credit bureau reporting the account if you do not utilize the proper strategy and following specific guidelines. The Fair Credit Reporting Act states that a derogatory accounts on your credit report can remain on your credit report for 7 years for revolving credit and installment accounts and for up to 10 years for bankruptcies and judgments.  Judgments can be renewed every 10 years. If you are about to be sued or have received a subpeona, contact CRI immediately because judgments are the most difficult accounts to be removed from a credit report.
